Yesterday on July 15th, Barrie experienced a tornado in the South-East side of the city. Luckily there were no fatalities, but there was catastrophic damage done to local residential areas.
Unlike other local drone operators, we did not fly the day of, as the Canadian Air Regulations state that you cannot fly legally near Fire, EMS or Police operations. It was a disappointment to see many drone operators fly anyways for social posts, and ignore the rules that were set to provide MEDIVACS and first responders a safe operational area.
The next day, rescue operations were over and the airspace cleared. We then took the above footage to document the events and are pleased to share with the public VIA YouTube.
A reminder to other operators to please not fly over a disaster event, and if you do eventually fly when safe to do so, operate out of a field and open area like we did, and NOT close in or OVER the neighbourhoods!
This just in! All of our main Air Support team have had our second dose of the COVID-19 vaccines! Here's to keeping us and our clients safe!
Amazing news this month! NAV Canada and Transport Canada have released their NAV DRONE App that you can download or view here! This is a single app that lets you see where you can fly, get approval from NAV CANADA to fly in controlled airspace, and so much more! If you are a drone pilot in Canada, we HIGHLY recommend this free service!
We have some exciting news to share today! As the title says, all A.S.A.P. crew members have received at least our first dose of a COVID-19 Vaccine!
This is excellent news, as it furthers protection for ourselves and our clients! We will still be following all of our COVID-19 protocols, however, it is such a good thing to see that we are hopefully nearing the end of the pandemic.
Stay safe, everyone!

We are sad to announce that the small business Barrie Real Estate Tours is closing as of December, 2020. We have worked with them since the beginning of Air Support, and wish Helen and Wilson the best of luck on their next adventure! It is actually thanks to this very partnership with them that made A.S.A.P. what it is today. Being our first large and reoccurring customer, they helped us grow and continue our work over these past crazy years!
Through our partnership with, Barrie Real Estate Tours, we provided aerial video and photography of properties while they captured the interiors and edited some amazing content for clients around Ontario.
While we are sad that this chapter for them is closing, rest assured that Air Support Aerial Photography remains open and continues to serve the communities that raised us to what we are today.
Thanks again, guys, and stay safe!
