Now more than ever, Airspace is becoming even more regulated in regards to drone operations. It affects both recreational and commercial operations and even class G (uncontrolled) airspace!
The easiest thing to do to ensure a safe flight are to have a checklist of 3 things: 1. Knowledge of Regulations 2. Knowledge of local airspace 3. Knowledge of local bylaws Regulations The easiest way to find the most current and accurate regulations is to visit Transport Canada's site. Ensure you stay up to date with the rules of the air, and always put safety first! Local Airspace Know it! Are you near aerodromes? Public places? Etc... Also, ensure you check the AWWS for NOTAMS and other important information. You don't want to be flying at the waterfront when there is an airshow! Bylaws One of the most protested parts, while drones are regulated federal, municipal governments may put local bylaws prohibiting flight. Make sure you're good! Did we miss anything?
