As cited from this news story, the US Military has now banned all use of DJI equipment, including their drones citing security concerns. While other militaries around the world have yet to follow the USA with the ban, it does bring more questions than answers. Many drone developers around the world use similar technology, yet only DJI has been banned. Is the USA concerned with the Chinese government tapping into the video stream and data? or are there genuine safety concerns? At this moment, the Canadian Forces has not banned the use of DJI products, so if you are a Canadian soldier out on an exercise, yes, you may use your Phantom (if it is OK with the CF!).
